Betty White was an accomplished American actress and comedian. She rose to fame as an early pioneer of television. Her career spanned seventy years and she was often referred to as “The First Lady of Television”.
The key to her success: optimism, perseverance and loving her craft.
She grew up in Los Angeles during the Depression and she lived life as it came her way.
She began in radio and easily moved into television making her mark in several successful situation comedies including “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”, “The Golden Girls” and “Hot in Cleveland”.
Betty White gave the best advice for living a long and happy life:
“Why retire from something if you're loving it so much and enjoying it so much, and you're blessed with another group of people to work with like the gang on 'Hot in Cleveland?' Why would I think of retiring? What would I do with myself?”
She died peacefully just a few days short of her 100th birthday.
