Born Laura "Luann" Bambrough, was known professionally as L'Wren Scott, was an iconic American model, fashion designer, and stylist.
Long and lean, she stood 6’ 3” tall and was destined to be a super model on the runways of Paris.
Her love of fashion and style pushed her career into design, and by 2006 she launched the first of her fashion collection, characterized by sumptuous femininity combined with unconventional touches, aimed at establishing a well-defined silhouette.
She issued regular tips on etiquette, known as "L'Wrenisms," and extended her range into shoes, handbags, glasses, makeup, and perfume. By 2013, she launched a line of affordable, ready-to-wear, holiday items.
She described her unique style in this way:
“I like a very sexy silhouette, and I like to feel like when you put something on, you zip yourself into it, and you're secure in there.”
Scott's designs were seductive, with an old-world feel: super-feminine silhouettes; rigorous cuts; nipped-in waists; pencil skirts, high-collared blouses; elegant, long-sleeved dresses; and a look that was pure luxury with attention to detail.
A super model turned designer — meets rock star— that is what happened when L’Wren Scott met Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones in Paris around 2001.
The relationship lasted about ten years. To outside observers, they were a perfect couple. Mick Jagger was an exciting partner who seemed to adore her. And yet there was a dark side. L’Wren seemed to need or want more.
Shortly after a, little-known rift with Mick Jagger, she became severely depressed. L’Wren Scott was found dead in her home, from a suicide by hanging.
L’Wren Scott will now be forever known In Heaven with the Stars.
