Lisa Marie Presley was an American singer-songwriter and the only child of singer and actor Elvis Presley and actress Priscilla Presley.
Born at the height of Elvis’s fame in 1968, Lisa Marie Presley was seen as the princess to the man celebrated as “the King of rock ‘n’ roll.” From the beginning her life has been in the spotlight and public interest in her life — from her marriages to her private tragedies — never waned until, much like her father and son, she was taken too soon.
Lisa Marie Presley developed a career in the music business and issued three albums: To Whom It May Concern in 2003, Now What in 2005, and Storm & Grace in 2012. Presley also released non-album singles, including duets with her father using tracks he had released before he died.
Her life was touched by tragedy from an early age when she lost her father Elvis Presley in 1972 when he was only 42 and she was nine years old. She also lost her son, Benjamin Keough, on July 12, 2020. He died by suicide at the age of 27.
Over the years she has made the following comments about her life:
“I would never take back any part of who I am or where I came from.”
“I would never want to be part of anything else.”
“I’m honored and proud of my family and my dad.”
And she made this poignant statement:
“Grief is something you will have to carry with you for the rest of your life, in spite of what certain people or our culture wants us to believe. You do not ‘get over it,’ you do not ‘move on,’ period.”
Lisa Marie Presley gone at the age of 54. We hope she finds peace and comfort In Heaven with the Stars.
